Eleven former Kansas Republican Party chairs on Thursday announced they are taking sides in the 2nd congressional district GOP primary between Lynn Jenkins and Jim Ryun.They have endorsed Jenkins, who is currently state treasurer, over Ryun, who held the 2nd district seat for 10 years before losing in 2006 to Democrat Nancy Boyda.”At a time when our country needs leadership and our party needs to be restored, we are proud to stand behind Lynn in her bid for Congress, and urge our fellow Republicans to do the same,” said a letter signed by the former chairs.The former chairs includes Vern Chesbro, Rochelle Chronister, Don Concannon, William Falstad, Dennis Jones, Morris Kay, Mary Alice Lair, George Nettels, Donald Schnacke, Tim Shallenburger and Kim Wells. The 2nd district includes western Lawrence.
