The Granada announced Monday via Twitter that the Guided By Voices concert scheduled for this Wednesday has been canceled because of “unforeseen circumstances.” Refunds are available at point of purchase.

The indie rock band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 1983, and has gone through many changes but maintained the presence of principal songwriter Robert Pollard. Having disbanded in 2004, the five reconnected to perform at the Matador Records’ 21st anniversary celebration in Las Vegas, and then a tour was announced to follow, which sold out nearly every venue. GBV has recorded six full-length “comeback albums” in less than four years since its reunion in 2010; its latest album, “Cool Planet,” is a collection of 18 songs, which they are currently performing on tour.

There doesn’t seem to be any conclusive information out there for the reason GBV won’t be stopping in Lawrence, but it’s certain there will be some disappointed folks looking to cash in their tickets.
