Memorial Day Weekend Outlook
Trips to the lake, hanging out by the pool and grilling out are common Memorial Day plans for families. But while we are looking at another fantastic weekend, you might want to keep tabs on your umbrella.
Temperatures for Saturday are expected to be in the upper 80’s once again with clear skies and a light southeast wind. High pressure will work to keep the skies clear for your Saturday and part of your Sunday before things begin to change.
A weak cold front will move into the region on Sunday bringing more clouds a few scattered showers into the region by late-day Sunday. Look for our wind to pick up out of the south between 10-20 mph. There is a chance to see some isolated strong storms that day, although widespread severe weather is not anticipated. It shouldn’t be a washout by any means, though periods of the afternoon and evening could bring heavy showers and thunderstorms to the region with highs in the mid 80’s.
Monday may bring showers early in the day with clearing expected for Monday afternoon. Highs are expected to only top out in the low 80’s making it a fairly pleasant day.
If you are out on the water on Sunday be sure to clear off the lake or pool if you hear thunder. If you are close enough to hear it, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day!!
