Conservative: KU wastes money on women’s studies
¢ A columnist from Brandeis University slams some recent comments about Kansas University by conservative activist David Horowitz in an essay on the site CampusProgress.org. Horowitz, echoing comments he’s made previously, writes in his new book, “Indoctrination U: The Left’s War Against Academic Freedom” that KU’s average professor salary of $92,000 was wasted on programs such as women’s studies._”So, there’s not enough money for conservatives who want to teach, but the liberal professors who do teach have undeservedly cushy salaries?” the columnist writes. “I’m beginning to think Horowitz intentionally leaves these contradictions in the text to bait his critics so he can bemoan their obsession with details as evidence that people like me have no argument to make against him and have to settle for nit-picking. The truth is that Horowitz’s writing is a self-parody of self-pity, a meta-commentary on opportunism, and a display of shameless hypocrisy._¢ Lawrence band Drakkar Sauna is featured on GoTriad.com, a North Carolina A&E site._Jeff Stolz and Wallace Cochran are about to acoustically rock the Southeast with their underground country-folk band, Drakkar Sauna. __Hailing from Lawrence, Kansas, the duo is embarking on a mini tour for their newest release, “Jabraham Lincoln.”_
