Police are looking for a white man wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and with a medium build in connection with an armed robbery Sunday evening at the Dollar General store, 1811 W. Sixth Street.Lawrence Police Capt. Ray Urbanek said a man entered the store and demanded money from the store’s cash register. Urbanek said the man fired a shot from a handgun into the air, and was given an unknown quantity of cash from the store’s register.The suspect was last seen heading south from the store some time around 6:30 Sunday evening. About 10 Lawrence police officers were on the scene and were seen taking items from the store in brown paper bags. There were several employees and customers in the store when the robbery occurred, police said. – Contributed by Jonathan Kealing
