New exhibit at Watkins Museum of History features art by Lawrence high school students
Art that Lawrence high school students made using repurposed materials will be part of an exhibit opening Friday at Watkins Museum of History, 1047 Massachusetts St.
The show, Effecting Change, will feature work created by the youth art collective Hang-12. Hang-12 is sponsored by the Lawrence Arts Center, and the group of students creates themed art shows for Final Fridays events.
Effecting Change is having a Final Friday program on March 25 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Watkins. It is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display until April 22. Event details are available on the museum’s Facebook event.
Hang-12’s show is part of a larger program hosted by the Lawrence Percolator titled “Heating Up: Artists Respond to Climate Change.”
