An expansion of a city bus route may make taking the bus an easier option for some students and families.

Because of high ridership, the city is expanding route 7, which makes stops at three secondary schools. Buses on the route will now pass twice as often as before, with the frequency increasing from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes.

Route 7 travels between downtown and 31st and Iowa streets, and makes stops near Lawrence High School, Central Middle School and South Middle School. Full route details with stop locations and times are available here.

Riders can also send a text or use a mobile app to find out when the next bus will arrive. More details about both the text service and the app can be found on the mobile tools section of the city’s transit website.
