Expo for special needs students to be held Wednesday

2016 Community Resource Expo

An expo for students with special needs and their families will be held at Free State High School on Wednesday.

The Community Resource Expo connects families with area service providers, organizations and support groups. Attendees can find more information on a dozen topics, including employment, health services and social opportunities. Door prizes and refreshments will also be available.

The annual expo is in its 15th year and is sponsored by the Transition Council of Douglas and Jefferson Counties. The expo will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive.

p.m.

club will meet at 1:45 p.m.

– The Schwegler Elementary marathon
club will meet at 2:30 p.m.

council will meet at 4 p.m.

Elementary school level

Main dish: corndog; hummus with cheese and pita bread; peanut butter and jelly with string cheese; chef salad with breadstick

Sides: steamed carrots, applesauce, salad bar, milk

Middle school level

Main dish: corndog; hummus with cheese and pita bread; peanut butter and jelly with string cheese; chef salad with breadstick; hamburger; rice bowl

Sides: steamed carrots, applesauce, tomato salsa, salad bar, fruit juice, fresh fruit, milk

High school level

Main dish: shepherd’s pie; corndog; cereal with string cheese; parfait with muffin; pizza; grilled cheese; peanut butter and jelly with string cheese; hummus with cheese and pita bread; chef salad with breadstick; daily sandwiches; deli bar

Sides: green beans, lemon-roasted carrots, applesauce, fruit sorbet, fruit juice, oven potatoes, salad bar, creamy tomato soup, fresh fruit, milk
