U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Kansas City, says today’s politics “empty.” http://www.kansascity.com/2010/09/07/2206812/cleaver-laments-emptiness-in-todays.html

In a news release, Stephene Moore, a Democrat running for the 3rd Congressional District seat, says she opposes President Barack Obama’s proposal to spend $50 billion on infrastructure improvements, saying the country cannot afford it. But she said she supports Obama’s proposal to close a loophole for oil and gas companies. She said the funds from closing the loophole should go to paying down the national debt. Moore faces Republican Kevin Yoder, a state representative, in the race.
