Brit Kring: It is always an honor to be selected as being the best at what you do and something we do not take lightly. We are constantly looking at how we can continue to improve our customer service and make Kring’s the best place to shop for your home interior needs.

What do you believe sets your business apart?

Our people. We’re not just a local business; we’re part of the community, and every team member brings passion and a personal commitment to every project. Our team takes the time to understand our customers’ unique needs and preferences, whether they are working on a new construction, renovation, or just refreshing a room. The collaborative nature of our staff–combined with their expertise–ensures that every customer feels valued and confident in their choices. Our goal is to make sure every customer feels like they are working with a trusted neighbor rather than just a business. This personal touch makes a difference in the quality of the experience and results for our customers.

Can you provide a brief overview of your business is history?

Kring’s Interiors was started in 1961 by Lou Parsons and Dale Kring. Lou retired in 1984 and Brit Kring joined his dad to help run the business. Dale retired in 1996 when Brit took over ownership.

How has your business evolved or grown since you first started? What key milestones have you achieved along the way?

The business started with just two men and a truck. Today we have six degreed interior designers, certified craftsman for ceramic, wood flooring, linoleum, and carpet.

We offer so many more services than we did in the beginning. We have found that our customers just want to call one person to handle the project. We have business partners that we work with for the plumbing, electrical, drywall, and paint. We love to take your project from design to completion.

How has your business embraced innovation to stay ahead of the curve?

Our new merchandising system features flooring samples arranged by color, providing customers with an organized and visually appealing way to explore options. This thoughtful arrangement enhances the shopping experience, making it easier for customers to find the perfect fit for their needs.

We’ve also introduced an interactive kiosk equipped with a room visualizer and instant product information. This tool allows customers to see how different products will look in their space, empowering them to make informed decisions right at their fingertips.

Reflecting on your journey, what motivated you to start this business, and how does it feel to see it flourish and earn the “Best of Lawrence” title?

I cannot take credit for starting Kring’s Interiors, but I am incredibly proud to have become the caretaker of a business that was built on a foundation of craftsmanship and exceptional service. As the business has grown, seeing it flourish and earn the “Best of Lawrence” title feels incredibly rewarding. It’s a tribute to our team’s hard work and the trust our customers have placed on us over the years.

What do you believe has been the biggest contributor to your business’s growth and reputation in the Lawrence area?

The combination of outstanding individuals and quality service. Our staff goes beyond just providing products–they become partners with our customers, guiding them through the entire design process. Whether it’s choosing the right flooring, offering expert advice on design, or managing installations, our team members take the time to listen, understand, and deliver exactly what the customer needs. This personalized service is one of the key reasons we’ve built such a strong reputation in the Lawrence community. People know that when they walk through our doors, they are getting more than just a sale–they are getting expertise, care, and a tailored experience.
