KU women open Big 12 tourney play Thursday vs. TCU

The Kansas women’s basketball team will open postseason play at 5 p.m. Thursday against TCU in the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City, Mo.

Seeded ninth, the Jayhawks (8-17 overall, 3-15 Big 12) will take on No. 8 seed TCU (9-14, 4-14) at Municipal Auditorium just down the street from where the second-seeded Kansas men’s team will open play in the men’s tourney at T-Mobile Center.

Brandon Schneider’s team finished the regular season on an eight-game losing streak, but split with TCU, winning by 10 at home and losing by three in Fort Worth, Texas.

The winner of Thursday’s game will advance to the Friday’s quarterfinals, where a matchup with top-seeded Baylor awaits at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday’s game will be televised on Big 12 Now/ESPN+.
