KU volleyball opens trip to UCF with win

The Kansas volleyball team opened its trip to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF Challenge with a three-set sweep of Albany on Friday.

KU (3-0) cruised to a 25-16 win in set one before rallying off 5 consecutive points to close out the second set after trailing by 3. The Jayhawks finished it off by edging Albany 29-27 in the third set, helped by a late Rachel Hickman kill.

On 28 attack attempts, Hickman led KU with a 11 kills, while senior Allie Nelson added a team-high 16 digs.

Next up at the UCF event, Kansas takes on South Carolina at 3 p.m. Saturday.
