Former Kansas point guard Dajuan Harris Jr. has signed with the Kortrijk Spurs, the team announced on Sunday.
The Spurs, also known as the House of Talents Spurs, play in the BNXT League, the top basketball competition for Belgium and the Netherlands. The team is located in Kortrijk in the Belgian province of West Flanders.
This is the first overseas professional contract for Harris, who is coming off a brief stint with the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Hornets won the league title, but Harris played just seven minutes across two of the team’s six games during the competition.
Harris spent six years at KU, beginning when he redshirted in 2019, a tenure during which he became the Jayhawks’ all-time leader in games played (173) and minutes (5,154) and finished behind only Aaron Miles with his 865 career assists.
The native of Columbia, Missouri, started 39 of 40 games for the 2021-22 national title team, but arguably his best season was 2022-23. During his redshirt junior campaign, Harris averaged 8.9 points, 6.2 assists and more than two steals per game. He led the Big 12 with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.28 and was named the conference’s defensive player of the year.
Harris received an honorable mention on the All-Big 12 teams each of his final three seasons at Kansas, culminating with the 2024-25 campaign.
All three of the rookie former Jayhawks who played in the NBA Summer League have now signed professional contracts. Center Hunter Dickinson was already on a two-way deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, while guard Zeke Mayo, after joining the KU alumni in The Basketball Tournament, recently signed to play for Ironi Kiryat Ata in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
