Zach Clemence is transferring to Texas A&M, the school announced on Sunday night.

The onetime Kansas forward Clemence, who entered the portal on March 28, becomes the second former Jayhawk to announce his destination for the 2025-26 season after David Coit made his move to Maryland public last Tuesday.

For Clemence, the move brings him closer to his home city of San Antonio after four years with the Jayhawks, in which he served as a member of the 2022 national title team but never carved out a sizable role on any roster. Most recently, the 6-foot-11 forward played in just eight games last season before suffering a groin injury; due to his limited action, he should be eligible for a medical redshirt and still have two years left to play.

This was Clemence’s second time in the transfer portal. He previously entered the portal after his sophomore campaign and elected to return to KU and redshirt after he had initially committied to UC Santa Barbara.

Texas A&M’s new coach crossed paths with Clemence and Kansas not long ago, though it was during the redshirt season. Bucky McMillan, known for his fast-paced, press-heavy “Bucky Ball” style, previously helmed the program at Samford when the Bulldogs took KU down to the wire in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Still in the transfer portal after leaving KU are Rylan Griffen, Rakease Passmore and AJ Storr, with Flory Bidunga having announced his return to the Jayhawks after a fraught week. According to a report from 247Sports, Passmore had plans to visit Virginia and Miami as he searches for his new home.

KU, meanwhile, has two incoming transfers in Jayden Dawson of Loyola-Chicago and Tre White of Illinois.
