Carter Lavrusky

Kansas offensive lineman Carter Lavrusky will enter the transfer portal.

Lavrusky and his representation from Athlete Asset Protection Sports Agency both shared the news on Thursday night after it was initially reported by 247Sports. The 6-foot-6, 320-pound tackle will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Lavrusky redshirted in 2024, then played 20 snaps in two games in 2025, according to Pro Football Focus. He began his career as a three-star prospect out of Horizon High School in Arizona.

The departure of the Scottsdale, Arizona, native means that KU has now lost all four of its Arizonans from the 2024 recruiting class, as well as four of the five offensive linemen from the class that it signed out of high school (although technically, the transferring Greydon Grimes began his career as a defensive lineman). David Abajian, who missed each of his first two seasons due to injury, is still on the roster.

The Jayhawks also have a couple other young tackles, including DeAndre Harper, a transfer from Northwest Missouri State, and Jack Tanner, a transfer from Tulsa. They brought in Antonio Wilson from Garden City Community College last summer as well, and have three total offensive linemen signed in the 2026 class: Malachi Mills, Kaden Moody and Kaden Snyder.
