KU continues Indiana recruiting with commitment of Reddick

The Kansas football team acquired a new piece for its future secondary when Robert Reddick announced his commitment on Wednesday evening.
Reddick, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound cornerback from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, picked KU out of a top five that also included Illinois, Northern Illinois, Purdue and Toledo. The three-star prospect had visited Toledo earlier in the spring and made the trip to KU last weekend.
“I always kind of had a feeling like ever since they first recruited me,” Reddick told Jon Kirby of JayhawkSlant.com. “But what really won me over was the strength (and) conditioning. The presentation that they had, like showing all of the science behind how they would develop me, how individualized my plan would be, and where I could be in a few months to a year. If I put in the work that I know I can, I feel like that’s what I need to get to the level that I want to be.”
The addition of Reddick serves as a continuation of KU’s growing recruiting efforts in the state of Indiana, from which it has also obtained players such as quarterback Cole Ballard and defensive end Adrian Holley, as well as, recently in the 2026 class, offensive tackle Malachi Mills of Westfield.
“I was talking to some of the players who are here from Indiana and (they were) just telling me it felt pretty much the same as being (in) Indiana,” Reddick told Kirby. “It felt like home. When I was down there for a couple days I could see what they were talking about.”
Reddick is the third defensive back in the 2026 group overall after JJ Dunnigan, the highly touted prospect who is expected to play safety among other positions, and cornerback Lennie “Trey” Brown, the first commitment on defense in the class as a whole.
During his junior season, according to stats Reddick posted on X, he racked up 37 tackles and broke up 11 passes with one interception and two fumble recoveries.
Reddick’s commitment closely follows those of defensive tackle Nakwaine Carter on Monday and tight end Kevin Sullivan last week as KU puts the final touches on the class, to which half of the current 18 players committed between Jan. 2 and Feb. 5.
