KU’s barrage of commitments continues with Anderson

Kansas football recruiting

Landen Anderson, a defensive lineman from Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma, announced on Monday evening that he will join the Kansas football team.

Anderson is KU’s fourth commitment in the span of 48 hours and ninth overall in the class of 2026. Listed as a defensive end, but a strong candidate to move inside to tackle who was recruited by defensive tackles coach Jim Panagos, Anderson has not yet been rated by 247Sports but is listed as a four-star prospect on Rivals.

“Other coaches would talk to me for a day or two,” he told Jon Kirby of JayhawkSlant.com. “Then they go like a ghost. They won’t talk to me anymore for a while. But Kansas, they just consistently talk to me.”

He also had offers from Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and UNLV.

Anderson came to Lawrence for the team’s Junior Day event centered on Saturday’s men’s basketball game against Houston and didn’t take long to make his decision after his visit.

“It just felt right,” Anderson told Kirby. “I could see that being my home. I like the people. I can just see a vision that the team is going to be good, and that team is for me. So that’s how I made my decision.”

He is the Jayhawks’ second addition on the defensive line following Hunter Higgins, an end from Maize South, who committed on Jan. 15.

Anderson shares a hometown with the Jayhawks’ incoming freshman quarterback David McComb, who attended Edmond Memorial High School. He also follows in the footsteps of Josiah “Cheese” Hammond, another converted defensive end from Oklahoma in the 2025 class.
