Khalil Herbert to transfer to Virginia Tech

After three-plus seasons with the Kansas football program, running back Khalil Herbert now has a destination for the final chapter of his college football career.
Herbert announced Tuesday he has committed to play in the ACC, for Virginia Tech.
A 5-foot-9, 205-pound rusher from Coral Springs, Fla., Herbert officially left the KU football team in early October and entered the transfer portal.
That came days after he informed head coach Les Miles and KU’s staff, on the eve of the team’s Week 5 road game at TCU, that he wanted to redshirt this season.
Should Herbert, who remained enrolled at KU after leaving the team, graduate before transferring to Virginia Tech, he will be eligible to play for the Hokies in 2020.
In KU’s first four games, Herbert provided 8.9 yards per carry, 96 yards per game and two rushing touchdowns. His abruptly shortened season concluded with him contributing 384 yards on 43 carries. After the Jayhawks played eight games without him, Herbert still finished 2019 as KU’s second-leading rusher, behind Pooka Williams Jr. (1,061 yards on 203 attempts).
Stayed solid, had to do my bid, now I’m here !
