Haskell Indian Nations University women’s basketball coach Adam Strom was among the more than 30 workers at the university laid off by the Trump administration, but he’s been sticking with his team through the postseason — and leading them on a run in the Continental Athletic Conference tournament.

On Saturday night, Haskell won the Continental Athletic Conference semifinal against Washington Adventist at Coffin Sports Complex in Lawrence, 88-61, to advance to the championship game at 4 p.m. Sunday.
