Haskell volleyball setter earns CAC player of the week honor

Haskell Indian Nations University freshman Jaspen Ellenwood has been named a Volleyball Player of the Week by the Continental Athletic Conference.

Ellenwood, of Lewiston, Idaho, and a member of the Nez Perce tribe, received the Setter of the Week honor for her performance last week. According to a news release from the conference, Ellenwood had 40 assists — averaging 3.33 assists per set — across four matches. Against William Woods University on Friday, Sept. 13, she recorded 16 assists in the team’s 3-0 loss (25-18, 25-21, 25-19). She also notched 13 digs and four service aces.

Other CAC players of the week include Spartanburg Methodist College sophomore Brantlie Price (Attacker of the Week) and Florida National University freshman Kitula Amaya Morales (Defender of the Week).
