Spring playoffs have arrived for several spring sports, while others are wrapping up the regular season this week. As the postseason looms, local athletes are making plays for their teams to gear up for the end of the season. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:

Ella Marsh, Free State

Marsh set a Sunflower League record in the 200-yard individual medley at 2 minutes, 4.21 seconds in the prelim race of the Sunflower League girls swim meet and proceeded to beat that time the following day with a new Sunflower League record at 2:03.68.

Joseph Lucas, Lawrence

Lawrence track and field competed in the Shawnee Mission North relays on Friday, and Joseph Lucas took ninth in the triple jump at 44 feet, 9 inches. Lucas also finished 23rd in the long jump at 20 feet, 4 inches.
