The Journal-World All-Area teams are carefully selected by the Journal-World sports staff.
Coach of the Year: Kasey Loomis, Tonganoxie
Loomis led the Chieftains to a 19-9 record and reached the regional championship game after defeating Baldwin 14-0 in the regional semifinal.
Player of the Year: Emerson Maslak, Tonganoxie

Emerson Maslak
Maslak earned second-team all-state honors as Tonganoxie’s shortstop this season. She was at the top of the team in batting average at .518, had an OPS of 1.534 and finished with 44 hits and four home runs.
Rylee Bentley, Baldwin

Rylee Bentley
Bentley finished her Baldwin career by leading the team in batting average (.359), hits (28) and runs (20). She earned second-team all-Frontier League honors and was a senior leader for the Bulldogs.
Jolie Corcoran, Perry-Lecompton

Jolie Corcoran
Corcoran finished her first year with the Kaws with a .360 batting average to go with 32 hits and 28 runs. The freshman earned first-team all-Big East honors and was a versatile bat for the Kaws.
Macie Corcoran, Perry-Lecompton

Macie Corcoran
Corcoran batted .432 with 38 hits and seven home runs, which got her first-team all-Big East honors for her junior year.
Paxton Damme, Perry-Lecompton

Damme finished her junior year with a .345 batting average and 29 hits while holding down first base and being a leader for the Kaws. She earned first-team all-Big East honors.
Jace Feurt, Free State

Feurt led the Firebirds with 63.2 innings pitched and had an ERA of 6.05. At the batter’s box, Feurt batted a .305 and had the second-best on-base percentage on the team.
Farrah Halsa, Tonganoxie

Farrah Halsa
Halsa was second on the team in batting average at .494 while also having an OPS of 1.412. She was second on the team in hits and had the best fielding percentage on the team among players with more than 30 put outs.
Keira Norris, Lawrence

Norris held a 3.04 ERA for her senior year at Lawrence and threw 123 strikeouts against 39 walks in 108 innings pitched while earning all-Sunflower League honorable mention. She totaled 372 strikeouts in her career to just 104 walks at Lawrence.
Sarai Preston, Free State

Preston led the team in batting average at .368 and was the only Firebird with an OPS above 1.000.
Aubrey Prickett, Tonganoxie

Aubrey Prickett
Prickett pitched 78.0 innings in 16 starts and held an ERA of 1.71 and a WHIP of 1.295. At the plate, Prickett had a .308 batting average with 20 hits.
