The winter sports season is reaching its last month, and local teams are having senior nights for some teams’ final home events of the season. In those events, local athletes showed out with big performances on memorable nights. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:

Miley Ellis, Free State

Ellis helped Free State beat Lawrence in the wrestling City Showdown dual by pinning Annabelle Ackerman, which Free State coach Melle Dye called “one of her better wins this season, especially against a tough girl like that.”

Jadin Harrell, Lawrence

Harrell got a senior-night win over Zane Shaw at the City Showdown wrestling dual with a 4-3 decision win. It was the final match of the night, and the win brought the gym to a roar.
