With the end of April, spring sports are entering their final month, as some sports are rapidly approaching the end of the season. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:

Finn Moore, Free State

Finn Moore tossed a shutout on Saturday as Free State baseball finished the River City Baseball Festival undefeated with a 5-0 win over Arkansas City. Moore struck out six batters in seven innings while allowing only two hits and three walks.

Keira Norris, Lawrence

Norris helped the Lawrence softball team get its fourth win of the season in a 2-0 shutout of Olathe East on Tuesday. Norris pitched seven innings and allowed only three hits and one walk while striking out eight batters. Norris finished with only 90 pitches thrown for an efficient outing in the circle.
