Some sports concluded their fall seasons, while others are closing in on the postseason, and local athletes have made critical plays to lead their teams. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:

Cami Lee, Free State

Cami Lee

Cami Lee finished seventh in her final 6A state girls tennis tournament after starting with the 10th seed. She upset the No. 8 seed in the seventh-place match after losing to her multiple times earlier in the tennis season.

Murphy Nowak, Lawrence

Murphy Nowak earned his 100th save of the boys soccer season, 13 games into the year. The Lions have a 10-4-1 record, with the defense having played a big part in the team’s success.
