Some fall sports are fully in postseason competition, while the majority are just a few weeks away from it. As playoffs loom, local athletes have had heroic moments to help their teams. Here are this week’s selections for Athletes of the Week:

Jaxon Becker, Lawrence

Becker caught five passes for 115 yards against Shawnee Mission Northwest last Friday and surpassed 100 career receptions with the Lions during the game. The senior has been a reliable receiver on varsity for three seasons.

Marleigh Grant, Eudora

The Eudora girls golf team earned a trip to the 4A state tournament by placing third as a team in the regional tournament. Grant placed second overall in the individual leaderboard by shooting a 79 in the regional.
