The spring sports season concluded its regional and quarterfinal rounds this past week, and several local athletes made plays to get their teams wins in the biggest moments. Here are this week’s selections for Athletes of the Week:

Harper Dye, Lawrence

Harper Dye

Dye hit .800 in Lawrence softball’s regional tournament with a double and two triples as she led the Lions to the regional championship. Later in the week, she and the Lawrence 4×100-meter girls relay team qualified for state in the regional meet by breaking 50 seconds for the first time this season.

Ryker Mahnke, Free State

The Firebirds flew through the baseball regional with a 10-0 win and an 11-1 win. Mahnke led the team with five total hits in those two games as the leadoff hitter.
