The winter sports season’s end brought end-of-season honors for numerous athletes around Lawrence, and a few athletes made college commitments in the last week. Here are this week’s selections for Athletes of the Week:

Alexia Born, Eudora

Born, a senior, committed to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for softball last week. She will enter her senior season with the Cardinals next week after an all-conference and all-state junior season as an outfielder.

Joey Dooley, Lawrence

Dooley was voted the Sunflower League freshman of the year as well as All-Sunflower League honorable mention. A key contributor for the Lions, Dooley played guard and forward for the Lions with both scoring and ball-handling duties.
