Coach of the Year: Chuck Law, Free State High School
Free State sent three golfers to the 6A state tournament and placed eighth with a 316 team score. Two of the Firebirds at the tournament placed in the top-25 on the individual leaderboard, including one top-15 finish.
Player of the Year: Marius Carlsen, Perry-Lecompton High School

Marius Carlsen
Carlsen finished fourth in the 3A state tournament with a 151 score. He averaged a 77 through 11 rounds and was consistently ranked in the top 12 of 3A boys golf. Carlsen wrapped up his high school career in the United States as a foreign exchange student from Norway.
Brayden Chappelle, Eudora

Brayden Chappelle
Chapelle was an individual medalist at two events his senior year and is now in second place for medals earned at both Eudora High School and Baldwin High School, due to his transfer to Eudora as a junior.
Tyler Deterding, Eudora

Tyler Deterding
A senior, Deterding is the most accomplished golfer in Eudora’s golf program. He won two individual championships and finished with numerous individual medals while leading the Cardinals. Deterding earned second-team all-state honors.
Aiden Graff-Hannah, Free State

Aiden Graff-Hannah
Graff-Hannah has played a consistent and monumental role on the Free State boys golf team throughout his high school career, and he ended it with a trip to the 6A state tournament.
A.J. Kimzey, Free State

AJ Kimzey
Kimzey, a sophomore for Free State, tied for 48th at the 6A state tournament and seventh at the regional meet. He had four top-10 finishes and scored an average of 78.
Cash Nelson, Free State

Cash Nelson
Nelson averaged a 77 through his junior year and tied for 21st in the 6A state meet and sixth in the regional meet. He had four top-10 finishes in 2025.
Nate Schworm, Lawrence

Nate Schworm
Schworm tied for seventh in the regional meet his senior year, which qualified him for the 6A state meet. There, he shot 161 in the two-day tournament, with a 77 on the first day.
Henry Thompson, Free State

Henry Thompson
Thompson tied for 13th in the 6A state meet his junior season and was a regional champion with a stroke average of 75. He had four top-10 finishes in 2025.
Ethan Tolbert, Perry-Lecompton

Ethan Tolbert
Tolbert qualified for the 3A state meet as a junior by shooting an 81 in the regional. For the season, Tolbert averaged an 87.
Brady Von Holten, Eudora

Brady Von Holten
Von Holten was a consistent golfer for the Cardinals. He earned two individual medals as a junior and came a couple of tie-breakers away from securing two other medals.. On top of his year with the golf team, Von Holten competed in track and field.
