The winter sport season continued into its second week with more sports getting started, and several local athletes have had high-level performances early on. Here are this week’s selections for Journal-World Athletes of the Week:

Jace Hoffman, Bishop Seabury

Hoffman has been the leading scorer for Bishop Seabury this season and has led them to a 3-0 record. In the team’s Monday game, Hoffman led the Seahawks with 36 points, six assists and six steals.

Macyn Ramsay, Lawrence

Ramsay had a coming-out party for the Lawrence girls basketball team on Tuesday after solidifying her role as the team’s main ball handler. Ramsay scored 27 points as the Lions won 77-46 over Topeka West.
