2024-25 Journal-World All-Area Girls Basketball Team

The Journal-World All-Area teams are carefully selected by the Journal-World sports staff.

Coach of the Year: Brandon Parker, Eudora

Parker led the Eudora Cardinals to an 18-2 regular season record and the best record in the Frontier League. The Cardinals returned to the 4A state tournament where they lost to the eventual runner-ups Bishop Miege.

Player of the Year: Cami Nauholz, Lawrence

Cami Nauholz

Nauholz, a sophomore, was first-team all-Sunflower League while averaging a double double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. She made a strong impact on both ends of the floor as a rim protector and scorer.

Izzy Brunkow, Eudora

Izzy Brunkow

Brunkow, a sophomore guard, made the all-defensive team and was second-team all-Frontier League after averaging 8.6 points per game with 1.5 steals per game.

Jayla Colter, Lawrence

Jayla Colter

Colter earned the starting point guard spot as a freshman with the Lions this season and averaged just under 10 points per game while averaging over two assists per game. Defensively, she matched up against opposing teams’ best guards.

Brynn Deterding, Eudora

Brynn Deterding

Deterding averaged 14 points with four rebounds, four assists and over two steals a game for the Eudora Cardinals. She made first-team all-Frontier League for the second straight year and was one of the best point guards in the state.

Avah Dye, Eudora

Avah Dye

Dye averaged 11 points per game as a freshman while making the first-team all-Frontier League team. She averaged almost six rebounds per game and over two steals per game.

Addie Fulscher, Free State

Addie Fulscher

Fulscher averaged over 10 points per game with almost three assists per game her junior season. She played around 30 minutes per game and led the Firebirds on and off the court.

Chloe Neufeld, Baldwin

Chloe Neufeld

Neufeld was the leader of the Baldwin Bulldogs on and off the court. She averaged over 10 points per game her junior year and two assists per game as the team’s point guard.

Emmy Reed, Perry-Lecompton

Emmy Reed

Reed had over eight points per game and almost two assists per game, which led the team. She started every game as a freshman and tied a school record for steals in a game.

Audrey Searl, Baldwin

Audrey Searl

Searl averaged eight points per game and seven rebounds per game for the Baldwin Bulldogs her sophomore year. She was one of the toughest players on her team, setting the tone for Baldwin.

Alyssa Schoeneck, Tonganoxie

Alyssa Schoeneck

Schoeneck averaged over 17 points per game with 4.5 assists per game at point guard while being voted first-team all-Frontier League in her junior season.
