The Journal-World All-Area teams are carefully selected by the Journal-World sports staff.
Coach of the Year: Don Blanchat, Baldwin

Blanchat and the Baldwin Bulldogs finished with a 16-4 regular season and reached the 4A state tournament after hosting and winning their substate.
Player of the Year: Chase Honarvar, Bishop Seabury

Chase Honarvar
Honarvar averaged 14 points and 14 rebounds with over six blocks per game this season. He recorded 18 double-doubles, three triple-doubles and set a state record in career blocks. Honarvar broke school records in career rebounds, blocks, double-doubles and triple-doubles and was first-team all-Kaw Valley conference.
Ronnie Baker, Perry-Lecompton

Baker averaged 12.5 points in his junior season with 4.5 rebounds and a steal per game while leading the Kaws to 10 wins.
Cooper Carr, Baldwin

Cooper Carr
Carr led the Bulldogs to the 4A state tournament as the team’s point guard averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 4.0 steals per game. Carr did this as only a junior and earned first-team all-Frontier League honors for the second-straight year.
Korbin Dowdell, Free State

Dowdell, a senior guard, led the Firebirds to a substate championship game appearance. He earned third-team all-Sunflower League honors.
Jace Hoffman, Bishop Seabury

Hoffman scored 15.6 points with 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game. He made second-team all-Kaw Valley conference and shot 32% on 3-pointers.
Bennett Nagel, Free State

Nagel was a top scorer for the Firebirds this season and helped bring the team a game away from reaching the 6A state tournament. He earned an all-Sunflower League honorable mention for his season.
Ryan Osburn, Eudora

Osburn averaged 15 points and five rebounds in his sophomore season with the Eudora Cardinals. He earned second-team all-Frontier League honors.
Aden Ramirez, Lawrence

Ramirez averaged 13 points per game for the Lions, shooting 38% on 3-pointers. He was named an all-Sunflower League honorable mention.
Leo Schoenberger, Baldwin

Leo Schoenberger
Schoenberger averaged 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a junior this season. He earned first-team all-Frontier League honors while increasing his scoring role with the team and being a go-to wing defender.
Jace Smith, Bishop Seabury

Smith averaged 18.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. He shot 37% from 3 and had five double-doubles as a first-team all-Kaw Valley conference player his senior year.
