Journal-World Athletes of the Week: Peyton Wright and Banks Bowen

The third week of the fall sports season is almost over, and with that come the weekly athlete selections from the Journal-World sports staff. Here are this week’s selections:

Peyton Wright, Baldwin High School

Wright has been one of the best golfers in the state this year and continued that into week three. She led the Baldwin girls golf team to a first-place finish at Lamont Hills on Tuesday as she finished second overall individually in the competition.

Banks Bowen, Lawrence High School

Bowen and the Lions started 2-0 in the football season with Bowen throwing for 254 yards and five touchdowns while adding another 210 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in a win over Junction City 69-56.
