The fall sports season is rapidly approaching the postseason with another October week over. Here are the Journal-World’s sports staff’s selections for Athletes of the Week.

Kavon Price, Lawrence High School

The Lawrence High School football team exploded with 55 points in a shutout win over Shawnee Mission West last Friday, and wide receiver Kavon Price helped build the early, insurmountable lead with three receptions, two touchdowns and over 100 yards receiving.

Annika Lintecum, Free State High School

Free State’s volleyball team defeated Lawrence at LHS, and outside hitter Annika Lintecum helped that happen with set-winning kills in two of the three sets and an overall strong performance on the outside.
