Local high school teams are finishing out the first part of their winter seasons this week before the winter break. Here are the Journal-World’s selections for Athletes of the Week:

Cami Nauholz, Lawrence

Cami Nauholz made her season debut for the LHS girls basketball team in a 59-37 win over Blue Valley West and led the team in scoring. She followed that up with a 15-point game in a 53-12 win over East Buchanan in the 12 Courts of Christmas tournament.

Jack Kempf, Free State

Free State’s swim team won its triangular against Lawrence and Shawnee Mission North on Wednesday, and Jack Kempf was a key part of that. He got a consideration in the 50-freestyle with a 23.81-second time.
