Kansas men’s basketball player Arterio Morris has been suspended from the program, an athletic department spokesperson confirmed Friday night.
The spokesman said KU Athletics had no further comment on the matter.
Morris is a sophomore guard who transferred to KU from the University of Texas following his freshman year.
On Thursday, Morris pleaded no contest in a misdemeanor assault case that had been set to go to trial on Oct. 2. That case dated back to a June 2022 altercation with an ex-girlfriend prior to the start of his Texas tenure.
On Friday, The Kansas City Star reported on allegations that a rape took place at McCarthy Hall, which houses the Kansas men’s basketball team, in August. The Star cited logs from KU’s police department; the Journal-World has not yet been able to confirm this information with KU police.
