The Kansas volleyball team continued its early-season success away from home, beating Wichita State (25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23) and Colorado (25-23, 25-27, 25-17, 25-20) in a pair of tight 3-1 matches in Wichita on Thursday and Friday to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Reigning Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week Camryn Turner racked up 53 assists against the Shockers and 33 more against the Buffaloes.

Graduate transfer Reagan Cooper continued to excel at outside hitter with 21 kills in the first match, aided by 18 more on .314 hitting from Ayah Elnady.

Coach Ray Bechard said in a postgame press release that KU needed to find “a little better offensive balance,” the Jayhawks didn’t have a player exceed 11 kills against Colorado, though six tallied at least five. Elnady led the way Friday, and earned a double-double with 10 digs in the process.

Seventeen service errors hurt Colorado as it played KU less and less close over the course of the match at Charles Koch Arena. Maya Tabron had 16 kills and 14 digs for the Buffaloes.

The Jayhawks will host Oral Roberts at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena on Tuesday as they continue their nonconference slate.
