2022-23 Journal-World All-Area Teams: Boys Golf

All-Area selections are made by the Journal-World sports staff.
• Coach of the Year: Mike Rack, Seabury
Mike Rack sent six boys — five seniors and a freshman — to the Class 1A state championship in his first year as head boys golf coach at Seabury. He led three Seahawks to top 10 finishes at regionals and oversaw a top 10 finish at state.
• Player of the Year: Jack Randall, Free State
Jack Randall, a junior, finished the year carding a 77.1 season average. Notable finishes included placing as runner-up at the Seaman Invitational and a 24th-place finish at state as Free State’s lone representative.
• Remi Baldock, Tonganoxie
Remi Baldock, a senior, carded an 82 season average, won the Frontier League title and placed second at state.
• Colton Brusven, Tonganoxie
Colton Brusven, a junior, carded an 84 season average, helping lead Tonganoxie to a Frontier League title. He registered a 10th-place finish at the state championship and a 15th-place finish at regionals.
• Tyler Deterding, Eudora
Tyler Deterding, a sophomore, won two tournaments this season and placed 10th at regionals. He went on to place 14th at state.
• Jace Hoffman, Seabury
Jace Hoffman, a freshman, medaled in eight tournaments and took third place at regionals. He placed seventh overall at state, notching the only top 10 finish among six total Seahawks at the tourney.
• Enzo Karam, Seabury
Enzo Karam, a senior, medaled in three tournaments and placed fifth at regionals. He placed 25th at state.
• Nate Schworm, Lawrence High
Nate Schworm, a sophomore, finished the year carding an 81 season average and shot a season-best 77. He placed 20th at regionals.
• Gunnar Wayenberg, Lawrence High
Gunnar Wayenberg, a junior, finished the year carding an 81 season average and shot a season-best 79. He tied for 21st at regionals.
• Aiden Graff-Hannah, Free State
Aiden Graff-Hannah, a sophomore, finished the year carding an 81 season average, notching three top-10 finishes during his second year with the Firebirds. He registered four consecutive rounds shooting in the 70s and tied for 33rd at regionals.
• Brett Paramore, Perry-Lecompton
Brett Paramore, a senior, was the top performer for the Kaws this season and logged the best finish for Perry at regionals (21st). He won the Royal Valley Triangular at Fire Keeper.
