Veritas boys basketball wasn’t able to get enough stops in its 83-75 road loss to Manhattan Chief on Saturday.

The Eagles (8-6) gave up three 20-point quarters, with their lone exception being when it surrendered 9 points in the third quarter. It spoiled an otherwise outstanding offensive night for Veritas, which had four players finish in double figures.

Will Bartkoski paced the team with 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Jordan Donaldson ended up second on the squad with 18 points on a 7-of-9 effort from the field. Will Rau registered 16 points, while Aden-Jay Baker finished with 11 points.

As a team, Veritas shot 28-for-56 from the floor and that included a 10-of-23 effort from beyond the arc.

Veritas will travel to Bishop Seabury at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
