Lawrence senior Trenton Snyder competes in the boys swim dual against Free State Thursday afternoon at Lawrence High School on Dec. 10, 2020.

Lawrence High’s boys swim and dive program completely dominated its home meet on Thursday to secure another victory on the season.

The Lions won eight of the 12 events on their way to a first-place finish in a four-team meet at LHS. They scored 225 points as a team, while Olathe North came in second with 179 points. Topeka High finished with 102 points to take third, while Topeka West placed fourth in the team standings.

Not only did Lawrence earn a lot of event victories, but it usually had the runner-up in such races as well. LHS actually ended up as the runner-up in six of its eight wins, taking the top-two spots in those events to pile up the points.

In the 200 freestyle relay, Lawrence’s quartet of Christopher Oral, Andrew Augustine, Trenton Snyder and Maximilian Whittaker won with a time of 1:37.56. The relay squad of Jack Tell, Giovani Lule-Paredes, Ryan Christian and Keyan Crawford came in second in that race with a mark of 1:43.91.

That trend continued in the individual races as well. Christian won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.41, while Snyder secured second with a mark of 2:02.51. The duo did the same in the 500 freestyle, with Christian posting a winning time of 5:33.11 and Snyder clocking a 5:44.53 to take second.

Giuliano Lule-Paredes won the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.17, but Tell was runner-up in that event with a mark of 2:27.69. Tell then won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:15.29, edging out Giovani Lule-Paredes’ time of 1:15.31.

Whittaker also won the 100 freestyle with a time of 51.90, while Oral came in second with a mark of 54.71.

Crawford was victorious in the diving competition after posting a total score of 190.70. Oral, Augustine, Christian and Whittaker finished first in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:33.45.

LHS will host a quadrangular on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
