Veritas boys basketball has win streak snapped

The Veritas boys basketball team lost its first game since December, suffering a 89-60 road loss to the Wichita Warriors on Friday.

Both teams were all tied up at 22-all after the first quarter, but the Wichita Warriors rolled after that starting with a 30-point effort in the second period. The Eagles (6-3) couldn’t make enough stops to stay within striking distance.

Will Rau led Veritas in a losing effort with 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. Will Bartkoski dropped in 20 points while going 7-for-13 from the floor. Brennan Clements joined his teammates in double figures by scoring 10 points in the loss.

Veritas will face Life Prep in Wichita on Saturday.
