Free State’s boys basketball team extended its win streak to three games with a 61-35 home victory over Olathe North Tuesday night.
The Firebirds (4-1, No. 9 in Class 6A) have won all three games since coming back from the break, which was a bit longer than usual because they had to quarantine in December. But things seem to be going smoothly for Sam Stroh’s squad at the moment.
Free State held Olathe North to just a single point in the second quarter, which was all the hosts needed to take complete control of the game. The visitors were held to a combined 9 points in the second and third period.
On offense, FSHS posted double-digit efforts in all four quarters in the win. It was a balanced attack for Free State, but Kris Daniels led the team in scoring with 12 points. Cooper Jackson netted 9 points. Cole Wheeler and Andrew Piper each finished with 8 points.
Free State will play host to Olathe Northwest at 7 p.m. Friday. The FSHS girls basketball game against Olathe North was postponed, but the team is slated to travel to Olathe Northwest at 7 p.m. Friday.
