Postseason brackets were officially revealed on Wednesday, and a pair of local boys basketball teams will get the opportunity to host substate after performing well in the regular season.

Lawrence High boys (17-1) will host Olathe Northwest (7-13) in the substate opener on Tuesday, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. at LHS. With a win, Lawrence would face the winner of Olathe West (9-10) and Gardner Edgerton (8-12) in the substate championship on Friday.

If the Lions were to win both games, they would set a program record by notching their seventh consecutive trip to the Class 6A state tournament.

Free State boys (17-3), the top seed in its own substate bracket, will be vying for a fifth straight trip to the state tourney. FSHS is set to host the winner of the play-in game between Junction City (8-11) and Topeka High (3-15) in its substate opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Firebirds would then square off with the winner of Washburn Rural (12-6) and Manhattan (8-10) in the substate championship on Friday.

On the girls side, Free State will compete in the play-in game of its substate bracket. FSHS (5-11) will travel to Junction City at 1 p.m. Saturday. If they advance, the Firebirds would have to travel to Topeka High (18-1) on Wednesday.

Lawrence girls (2-17) will travel to Olathe West (12-5) at 7 p.m. Wednesday for its substate opener.
