Lawrence’s boys bowling squad secured a regional crown by scoring 3,564 as a team, while having three bowlers finish inside the top-four on the individual leaderboard. Junior Carson Toews led LHS by posting a series score 718 to grab a runner-up finish.

Free State’s boys bowling team finished in second place, which was still good enough to qualify for the state tournament as a team. Behind three top-10 finishes from individuals, the Firebirds posted a team score of 3,373.
Sophomore CJ Rickert claimed sixth with a 656, while freshman Koda Gosser recorded seventh with a 650. Junior Warren Williams netted ninth by posting a 628.
On the girls side, LHS took second as a team with a total score of 2,518. Senior Bean Foster led the Lions with a series score of 520, which was good enough for fifth as an individual. Junior Georgia Blackwood placed seventh by recording a series score of 515.
Free State junior Ashley Edwinson qualified for state as an individual by rolling a 515 on her way to a sixth-place finish.
The Class 6A state tournament will take place at Northrock Lanes in Wichita on Friday, March 5.
