LHS girls bowling, FSHS boys both earn wins in City Showdown
Both local bowling programs came away with a win in the City Showdown on Tuesday at Royal Crest Lanes.
Lawrence High’s girls bowling team was victorious, while Free State’s boys bowling squad claimed a narrow victory in a dual between the two programs. LHS girls scored 1,993 as a team, besting a score of 1,758 by FSHS.
On the boys side, the Firebirds defeated the Lions by 39 pins with a total score of 2,280.
LHS senior Emilie Rodman was the top individual in the varsity girls competition with a series score of 572. Ashley Edwinson of FSHS finished as a runner-up in the division with a series score of 500.
For the boys, Free State senior Porter Neidow netted the individual crown with a series score of 610. Lawrence High’s Maison Albarado rolled a 580, which was good enough for second place in the varsity boys competition.
