Area football roundup: Tonganoxie takes down Louisburg for 42-6 win

Tonganoxie improved to 2-0 with a 42-6 road win over Louisburg Friday night.
The Chieftains scored the first 14 points of the game and never looked back. Elijah Tyner had a 5-yard touchdown run on a direct snap and Sam Kleidosty punched it in from 2 yards out as well. THS has now won nine of its last 10 games, dating back to last season.
Tonganoxie will host Eudora at 7 p.m. Friday.
Holton 14, Perry-Lecompton 7
Despite an early lead, Perry-Lecompton dropped a 14-7 decision at Holton on Friday night.
The Kaws scored in the first quarter on a 7-yard touchdown run by Thad Metcalfe, and took a 7-6 lead after one quarter. Holton reclaimed the lead for good with 8 points in the second period.
Perry-Lecompton (1-1) will host Sabetha at 7 p.m. Friday.

KC Piper 57, Baldwin 6

For the second week in a row, Baldwin came up on the losing end.
The Bulldogs managed just 6 points in a 57-6 road loss to KC Piper on Friday night. KC Piper is now 2-0 to start the year, while Baldwin falls to 0-2. The Bulldogs were down by a 43-0 margin after the first two quarters of the game.
Baldwin will host Louisburg at 7 p.m. Friday.
Bonner Springs 28, Eudora 20
After being tied at half, Eudora was unable to complete the comeback in a 28-20 loss at Bonner Springs.
A 47-yard touchdown pass from Zeke Reazin to Silas Etter evened things at 14-14 with 2:22 left in the first half. Cael Lynch added a score with 6:58 left in the third quarter, but Bonner Springs pulled away in the fourth quarter. The Cardinals are now 0-2 to start the year.
Eudora will travel to Tonganoxie at 7 p.m. Friday.
