Kansas City, Mo. — Kansas sophomore Devon Dotson rolled his ankle during a recent KU practice and has spent the past couple of days with a walking boot on his right foot.
KU coach Bill Self told the Journal-World that the injury was “nothing serious” and that Dotson was listed as day to day.
With KU opening exhibition play on Thursday night against Fort Hays State at Allen Fieldhouse, there’s a chance that Dotson might not play in that game.
Dotson’s injury first surfaced in a photo posted to Twitter by ESPN broadcaster Holly Rowe, who was in Lawrence this week for media training.
If Dotson does not play on Thursday night, junior Marcus Garrett likely will handle the bulk of the point guard duties for the third-ranked Jayhawks, with sophomore Ochai Agbaji chipping in as a secondary ball handler.
Dotson, Agbaji, Self and senior center Udoka Azubuike are in Kansas City, Mo., today for the annual Big 12 media day at Sprint Center.
