Bishop Seabury freshman Will Hedges wins regional meet

Bishop Seabury freshman Will Hedges continued his prolific rookie campaign Monday afternoon.

Hedges shot a 75 on a par-72 Woodland Hills Golf Course in Fort Scott to win the regional meet. He netted three birdies, finishing two shots better than the next-best individual golfer, to earn a trip to the state tournament.

Hedges was one of four freshman golfers for the Seahawks to compete in the regional meet. Min Jung shot an 114 to place 27th, while Jonah Kim took 38th with an 128. Jaxon Patterson placed 41st with an 136.

The Class 2A state golf tournament will take place at Hesston Golf Park on May 20.
