KU women’s basketball team releases nonconference schedule

Kansas will have 10 homes contests, including a pair of exhibition games, ahead of Big 12 play during Brandon Schneider’s fifth season at the helm of the women’s basketball program, according to a news release Wednesday.

KU will begin exhibition play on Sunday, Oct. 27 against Pittsburg State. The Jayhawks will conclude their two-game exhibition schedule with Emporia State on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Following its exhibition contests, Kansas will welcome Indiana State on Dec. 6. KU will continue its five-game homestand to start the season with Illinois-Chicago, Omaha, UMass Lowell and Texas State. During the second week of the season, Kansas faces UIC on Nov. 10 and Omaha on Nov. 13. The following week, the Jayhawks host UMass-Lowell on Nov. 17 and Texas State on Nov. 24.

The Jayhawks will hit the road for the first time during the 2019-20 campaign to participate in the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament, which runs Nov. 29-30. While in Boca Raton, Florida, the Jayhawks will face Florida Atlantic and Loyola (Maryland).

KU will also play host to Florida in the annual Big 12/SEC Challenge on Saturday, Dec. 8. KU will then welcome St. Mary’s on Dec. 15 before traveling to St. Louis on Dec. 21. For its nonconference finale, Kansas will play Wofford inside Allen Fieldhouse on Monday, Dec. 30.
