LJWorld.com Area Basketball Roundup

One night after a hard-fought loss, the Bishop Seabury boys basketball team bounced back in a big way with a 74-19 win over Northland Christian Tuesday night.

The Seahawks, who dropped a 52-47 decision to Maur Hill (No. 1 in Class 3A) Monday night, were in control from the start. Bishop Seabury jumped out to a 27-2 advantage by the end of the first quarter, increasing its lead to 47-5 by the intermission.

“Really proud of the way we put last night behind us and got better today,” head coach Jonathan Raney said. “Obviously, it was an emotional game last night that we felt like we let slip away. We could have come out tonight and felt sorry for ourselves and not given a good effort, but we didn’t. We competed on both ends of the floor, especially in the first half.”

Four players scored in double figures, including a game-high 17 points from Miles Branch.

Bishop Seabury plays host to Metro Academy at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
